Upper Coast Kayak Fishing Trip

Join Texas BHA for a day fishing for Specks, Reds, and Flounder on the Texas Upper Coast. This event is open to canoes, kayaks, SUPs, or any other paddle craft you want to bring out. We will launch at first light from the Kayak launch at the end of CR 257L before dispersing to fish Christmas and Drum Bays until 1pm. Immediately after loading boats, we’ll move to the beach opposite the kayak launch to socialize over lunch and beverages (accessible by Public Beach access No.3 at Nacal Rd and driving approximately ½ mile north on the beach).

General Event Guidance

  • Each angler will be responsible for their own boat and fishing gear. For those who wish to participate but do not own a kayak, Explore More (exploremoresurfsidebeachtx.com) in Surfside Beach has rentals and will deliver or you can make arrangements at one of the many shops across the state and bring it with you.
  • Event will be rain or shine, good wind or bad, unless there is a storm looming in the Gulf.
  • Primitive camping is permitted on the beach along Bluewater Highway for anyone who wishes to stay the night before or after.

All anglers are required to have a PFD and follow all relevant safety and fishing rules.
