On August 18, we're bringing you a brand new kind of event. Join us in Rogers as we spend an Evening with Arkansas conservation legend Kirk Dupps. He is one of Arkansas' best-kept conservation secrets and a member of the Arkansas Outdoors Hall of Fame.
Kirk was appointed to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission by Governor Bill Clinton and during his tenure on the Commission he championed the passage of our 1/8 cent conservation sales tax.
Kirk is considered the father of the designated catch-and-release and trophy trout areas on the White River. He was appointed by the United States Department of the Interior to serve on the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation where he served as the Vice Chairman and head of their critical species section.
Kirk is the visionary behind the Acres for America conservation program in which Walmart partnered with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to conserve one acre of land for every acre they have ever or will ever develop. Projects at Devil's Eyebrow, along the Kings River, and the Smith Creek Nature Preserve are a direct result of this program, as are over 1.8 million acres across the country.
We will spend an hour with Kirk, asking him to share his greatest conservation success stories. By understanding how we got to where we are, we can all learn how to work for a better future. We'll save time for some Q&A as well as plenty of socializing.
