Join us for a family friendly weekend of fishing, camping, and wild fish & game bbqs at Piru Creek in Castaic just North of Los Angeles. We will have fly fishing instruction for new anglers, campfire stories and will be coordinating a public land packout of trash from the watershed.
Timing is flexible and folks can arrive Friday evening or Saturday morning. We will be camping both Friday and Saturday night and campsites are first come first serve. Volunteers will try to secure a few sites ahead of time if possible so if you're coming in later, let us know.
If you plan to fish, please be sure to bring your fishing license and any gear you might have - spinning reels, fly reels, or even a stick and string will do just fine...The creek is barbless hooks only and catch + release.
Please also bring camping equipment and food for the weekend. We will be encouraging folks to bring food to share for a wild game potluck, but having extra is always a good call. The weather could be cold or hot this time of year so bring layers!
Please RSVP so we have an idea of the headcount and bring your family and friends. This is a free event!
