The Southeast Chapter will be hosting a small game hunt and trash clean-up event February 27, 2021 at the Perdido River Wildlife Management Area in Baldwin County, Alabama. Join us for some food, fun, and fellowship. All are welcome to participate in this family friendly hunting opportunity.
We will meet in the parking lot at the WMA Check Station, 33724 Duck Road, Robertsdale, AL 36567 at 6am. We will break off into groups and pursue squirrel, rabbit, and any other game that may be in season. Leaders will also distribute trash bags to all participants with encouragement to collect at least two bags of trash while out and about on the WMA.
We'll reconvene at the Check Station for a quick brunch and presentation at 11am. Those who wish to continue the hunt and trash collection are welcome to do so.
Please note: For the safety and peace of mind of all involved, all social distancing guidelines and procedures will be followed. Please be sure to bring and wear a mask while around other participants.
Perdido River WMA is only an hour from the Gulf beaches and there are plenty of housing options even closer in the surrounding area, if you are so inclined. There is also a primitive camping area at the Check Station.
Please RSVP if you will be attending so we will know how many people to expect. If you plan to hunt, be sure to purchase a WMA license along with your hunting license and familiarize yourself with the WMA regulations. This WMA requires a paper WMA permit map or electronic version on the OutdoorAlabama app. More information can be obtained at OutdoorAlabama.com.
