Hunting for Sustainability: Northern Arizona University

Have you been interested in hunting but haven't had the chance to learn? Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is offering a free, all-inclusive program that will introduce you to quail and rabbit hunting including sessions on firearm safety, access to public lands, ethical hunting, the history of conservation, and how to care for and butcher your harvest.

The workshop will take place on public lands north of Tucson. Accommodations will be camping and you will spend the weekend on-site with your fellow classmates and workshop leaders. You'll spend the time participating in educational sessions and mentored hunts with experts from BHA, Arizona Game & Fish, Arizona Wildlife Federation, and Southern Arizona Quail Forever. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to try different wild game meals that will be provided throughout the weekend.

Accepted participants will need to purchase a valid hunting license. Hunting and fishing licenses are available for purchase online, at all Arizona Game and Fish Department offices, and at license dealers statewide. Hunting license costs are $37 for residents and $160 for non-residents. If this presents significant financial difficulties for you, please reach out to [email protected] for options.
