Map reading and general land navigation skills are essential tools in the outdoorsman’s tool kit. Those tools are doubly important when you are a public lands and waters user because it is important to know the boundaries between public and private and to respect the rights of both public and private landowners. The Stearns Ranger District of the Daniel Boone National Forest is requesting public comment on the Stearn Ruffed Grouse Management Plan proposal.  The project will be on US Forest Service property in portions of McCreary and Pulaski counties.  The project will greatly benefit a variety of species (Ruffed Grouse, Wild Turkey, Whitetailed Deer, Elk, Bear, early successional bird species, etc.).  I have attached detailed project information to this email.   On December 2nd, six Murray State BHA club members along with Kevin Murphy from Small Game Nation and Paul Skees from the Kentucky BHA chapter, rendezvoused for a quick breakfast and headed out to Clark’s River for a squirrel hunt.
