Missoula-based carpenter, elk hunter and bird dog man Malcolm Brooks is the author of the epic novel Painted Horses, a wild and beautifully written story of romance and collision in 1950s Montana, where ancient pictographs in unexplored canyons whisper stories about to be forever lost beneath waters impounded in the frenzy of the dam-building era. Painted Horses has been described by Rick Bass as "Reminiscent of the fiery, lyrical and animated spirit of Cormac McCarthy's Borderlands trilogy, ...

Kentucky Chapter Organizes WMA Cleanup

Author: Josh Rodamer
The air was nearly as thick as the unified cause of the day. The forecast had called for a temperature around 90 with over 60% humidity, but by 8:30 AM cars began to park along the access road. Volunteers were told to be wary of snakes, ticks, and biting insects and then reminded of social distancing guidelines. Canada Goose Pitas

Northern Colorado has some of the best Canada goose hunting in the country if you can find access, afford a lease or be lucky enough to be invited to one. Low on decoys, I often wait for the last. We headed to his lease and sat in the blind. As the geese lifted off the roost from a nearby lake, they ...
