event_description: Join the New England Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers for a very special stewardship project at Martin Burns WMA in Newbury, MA. Our primary focus will be improving habitat by removing trash, spent shells, and other debris from around the property, but there will be a few other projects as well. After putting a few hours of hard work in, we will gather for a cookout. Representatives from MassWildlife will be on hand to answer your questions and fill you in on future stewardship projects taking place around the state. We also have a very special guest attending, Mark Kenyon. Mark is the author of That Wild Country, founder of Wired To Hunt, and host of the industry-leading Wired To Hunt Podcast. He is a nationally published writer, and MeatEaters resident "whitetail guy." We are excited to have  Mark helping out at Martin Burns WMA as part of his Working for Wildlife Tour.  For food planning purposes, please RSVP! While there is no cost to participate in this event, we welcome donations to help offset any costs we incur and so that we can invest in future projects to benefit our public lands, waters, and wildlife. Make a donation here! Thank you!    Things to Bring & Keep in MindWork GlovesDress appropriately for the weather! Reusable Plate & water bottle, so we can cut down on waste. Ticks are always a possibility. Use permethrin on your close or take other precautions. Comfortable footwear. Burns WMA is expansive and some of the work sites will require a 10-15 minute walk. This project will take place rain or shine!  ParkingDue to the overwhelming response, we will far exceed the parking capacity at Martin Burns. We will be utilizing nearby offsite parking at Manter Field (address above) and will be running a shuttle to our rendezvous site at Burns, which is a little over a mile away.
