The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. Our stewardship events are designed to support the local public lands we all enjoy and recreate on.
Come join the Maine AFI for a cleanup of Maine Woodland Owners properties in New Gloucester, Maine. This be taking place along with numerous cleanups around Maine as part of IFAW's Landowner Appreciation Day.
Maine Woodland Owners is the largest single private landowner in New Gloucester. These properties are all open to the public for hunting and fishing. Dumping, vandalism and other irresponsible and illegal activity threatens to close access to these properties. The goal of this event is to maintain the longstanding Maine tradition which allows public access to private lands. Attendees will have the option of attending an informal lunch at Brick Hollow Brewing in New Gloucester following the event.
When is it:
Sept 15th 9AM - 12:30PM
Where is it:
Maine Woodland Owners - New Gloucester, Maine
521 Bennett Rd
New Gloucester, ME 04260
The meet up location will be in a dirt lot on Bennett Rd, west of the Maine Turnpike (I-95). A large gravel pit is adjacent to the lot.
Who can attend:
- This event is open to all members of the military community
(Active duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star families)
