Ever dreamt of trying turkey hunting but unsure where to begin? Now's your chance to participate in an incredible opportunity to learn to hunt turkeys hosted by Minnesota BHA in collaboration with the Trust for Public Land. As aligned partners, our shared vision revolves around protecting, providing for, and preserving public land.
The goal of this program is twofold: to equip you with the tools and resources to become an ethical hunter and to foster a sense of inclusiveness, diversity and representation across Minnesota's public lands in the context of access for all. Funding for this project was provided by the Bass Pro Shops/Cabela's Outdoor Fund.
No experience is needed! This workshop is designed to engage a diverse group of new hunters and conservationists. The program follows a hybrid model, featuring a weekly virtual class starting the first week of March, leading up to an in-person, three-day mentored hunt from May 3rd to May 5th. Simultaneously, you'll be tasked with completing your online hunter safety course.
*Participants will be expected to attend 4 virtual meetings in March and April for 1-2 hours each prior to the hunting weekend.
**Applicants must be at least 18 years old and be able to purchase a valid hunting license.
We are limited to 10 spots available. Participants will be selected from a pool of eligible applicants. RSVP and complete the pre-hunt questionnaire to be considered as an eligible applicant . Deadline to apply is Feb. 29th. All applicants will be notified about their status by March 1st.
