Help us map out invasive weeds at the Hallelujah Junction Wildlife Area as part of a three year post-fire rehabilitation and connectivity project! As we prepare to plant over 20,000 bitterbrush and Washoe cultural plants on the landscape, we need to document the lay of the land and map out areas with a high density of invasive weeds within our approved work areas. We need BHA volunteers to help identify and map cheatgrass, pepperweed and medusa head using a Survey 123 form so that CDFW staff can plan and prioritize the removal of these problematic plants.
All are welcome and no prior expertise is needed. We will meet at 10am and hike out in small groups to cover as much of the approved work sites as possible. Volunteers should bring plenty of water, snacks, a smart phone, and dress comfortably for hiking off-trail. We will meet at the North end of the Bordertown Casino & RV Resort parking lot.
