event_description: Idaho BHA is looking for volunteers to join members of the University of Idaho BHA club for a public lands stewardship project  at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge on October 13.  Turnbull NWR is located 5 miles south of Cheney, WA, approximately 1 hour from Coeur dAlene.The University of Idaho BHA club has been participating in community service projects at the refuge for the past year. This event is part of an ongoing community effort to restore native riparian habitat to benefit birds and other wildlife species. During this event, volunteers will be planting native saplings as well as putting up fencing to protect the trees from deer, elk and moose browsing. There will also be a potluck put on by the refuge after the work is done. Volunteers are welcome to bring a dish, the refuge will be supplying hamburgers and hot dogs.Please RSVP - We need to supply the Turnbull NWR staff with an estimate of our volunteer numbers.Required Equipment: Long-sleeve shirt, work pants, gloves, sturdy boots or shoesOptional: Shovels and pliersWhen: Saturday October 13th            Planting: 9am-12pm            Potluck: starts at noonWhere: Turnbull NWR Headquarters, 5 miles south of Cheney on Cheney-Plaza Road: turn left on Smith Road and drive 2 miles on gravel road to headquarters.Contact: Joy Billings: bill0600vandals.uidaho.edu
