Join Kansas BHA for a work day on Graham and Rooks County Walk In Hunting Areas.
We'll be working at two WIHA locations cutting cedars and other trees and doing some spot spraying.
No experience necessary! We will have work available for all skill sets and experience levels and everyone will gain some knowledge on habitat and tree identification by the end of the day.
Details:
- We will meet at the KDWP Headquarters office at Webster Lake by 9 a.m. We'll give an overview of the day, what we want to accomplish and why and a short safety talk.
- Saws, fuel and oil and hand tools will be provided, but If you are comfortable using a chainsaw and have one, please bring it along if you like.
- Lunch and water provided.
- Please bring boots, long pants, long sleeve shirts, gloves, hat, bug spray (ticks will be bad) and water or sports drink.
- Shower houses are available, so feel free to bring a change of clothing for the end of the day.
For anyone who may want to make an overnighter or weekend out of it, Webster has a very nice state lake with camping available, good fishing and some good spring turkey WIHA close by.
