The Georgia Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers invites you to join in on its second annual Squirrel Smash – a small game hunt, cleanup and camping weekend.
This year we will be gathering at Pine Log Wildlife Management Area February 24 (people will start arriving to the campsite in the afternoon) through February 26.
We’ll do a little cleanup work to give back to our public lands and then enjoy campfire discussions, storytelling, hunting/fishing/exploring, and most importantly we will be discussing the chapter's plans for the #savepinelog campaign and how members can help keep this wonderful WMA in public hands.
We will have a few giveaways for most trash picked up, most squirrels taken, and more. We look forward to another fun event and seeing everyone. BHA members and non-members alike are invited. Come see what the Georgia Chapter of BHA is doing this year to help Georgia Outdoors Enthusiasts keep and gain more access to public lands and wildlife.
Directions: From the South entrance on Stamp Creek Rd. enter the WMA and travel North on Pine Log Main Rd. approximately 0.25 miles. We will be camping at the 1st (first) wildlife opening on the left (west) side of the road. This is the first Handicap opening and will have Handicap signs. Please make sure to be cautious on the roads and wildlife opening to not damage your vehicle or the terrain. Campsite Coordinates: 34.25561, -84.68487. Plug those in, and we’ll see you there!
Please bring trash bags and plan on leaving Pine Log WMA better than when we get there!
