During our second virtual foraging seminar, Spencer with High Country Harvest and Orion with Forage Colorado will talk about a few of the more common and easy-to-distinguish fungi found in our area, as well as some resources for general mushroom identification. Species discussed will include the king bolete aka porcini aka "Rubies", Boletus rubriceps, our local chanterelle, Cantharellus roseocanus, hawk's wing, Sarcodon imbricatus, and the saffron milk cap, Lactarius deliciosus. All of these mushrooms have a few key distinguishing features that makes them great for beginners to learn and they're also four of the best mushrooms in our woods! During this seminar we will likely go off on tangents and mention other fun species; it will be information packed and a really great resource for those looking to get into mushroom hunting. There is a high probability this will run longer than 45 minutes - these guys can literally talk about mushrooms for hours! We will try our best to be concise. There will be a 15 min Q&A at the end of the seminar.
Space is limited so please RSVP if you would like to attend. Zoom login information will be emailed to you after you RSVP. If you don't receive your login information after RSVPing please contact Brien Webster.
