Why You Should Want to Attend:

The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. This shooting event is designed to teach members of the military community how to build confidence and proficiency with your rifle prior to hunting on public lands in Arizona. 

What is it:

This event is a prepare-to-hunt event. Attendees will be mentored through zeroing and sighting in a rifle at their desired range. AFI mentors will go over firearm rules, range rules, and practical "how-to's" in zeroing a rifle. We will discuss shooting positions, rangefinding and estimation, and carrying techniques for hunting.

The Range charges $10 per day (there is a special military price for less). The range operates on CASH ONLY BASIS. Please make sure to bring cash.

All attendees are expected to obey the rules of the range and all directions from range safety officers.

Attendees can expect to learn:

-Shooting basics and positions
-Zeroing Techniques
-Adjusting zero for range
-Range estimation
-How to carry firearms while hunting

Attendees should bring:

-Water
-Firearm
-Ammunition
-Targets (available for purchase)
-Hearing Protection (available for purchase)
-Eye Protection (available for purchase)
-Comfy Clothes
-CASH for range fee and any desired targets/eyepro/earpro

Who can attend:

- This event is open to all members of the military community

(Active duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star families)

- All BHA members wanting to support AFI and the military community

- You do not need to be a BHA member to attend 

(but we sure would appreciate it if you were)
