Join the Vermont BHA as we team up with a local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation to remove trees and stack brush that is shading out apple trees at Elm Brook WMA. Apple trees are shade intolerant species and require plenty of light to produce apples. The brush from the cut trees will we stacked to produce habitat for rabbits.
Volunteers are encouraged tools for cutting brush. If using a chainsaw, please bring full personal protection equipment (eyes, ears, chaps). For hand tools, eye protection is required, gloves are recommended. Hand tools will be provided for those that need them.
All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver the day of the event.
