event_description: Deer season is right around the corner and we couldnt be more excited... and I am sure we arent the only ones! To celebrate our favorite time of the year we are throwing our First Annual Hunting Season Kick-Off Party together with our friends at Swamp N Stomp. In addition to the party, we will kick the morning off with a scouting workshop to get less experienced hunters into the woods with more experienced hunters to learn what to look for when hunting deer/hogs.KICK-OFF PARTY:We will be roasting a whole pig, cuban style, with all the fixings! But feel free to bring your favorite dish or sides out, you cant have too much food right?! Soft drinks will be present, but adult beverages are BYOB! NO GLASS!We will be aiming for the pig to be ready around Noon, so dont be late! When you come into Riverbend Park, follow the event signs to our location!SCOUTING WORKSHOP:For those wanting to participate in the scouting workshop, we will be assigning groups to our group leaders and leaving the Riverbend Park parking lot at 8am to head across the street into Cypress Creek Natural Area. If you wish to participate, drop a comment below! If you are interested in being a group leader, send us a direct message! This is a preserve (no hunting) that is loaded with deer and hogs, so its a great place to find fresh sign and learn about what to look for in the areas you plan to hunt in. The game wardens of this natural area have agreed to let us do this with one rule: NO CAMO ABOVE THE WAIST! Otherwise, they will get a million calls about poachers! Some groups will head out on bike to get a bit further back and spread out, so if you have a mountain bike or E-bike bring it along. Other groups will head in on foot.Prepare for high intensity exercise in the Florida sun. This means bring lots of water, lightweight clothing, and maybe a granola bar or two. We dont know what water levels will be like but you should be prepared to walk through water (so your shoes may get muddy or your boots may get flooded).Disclaimer: Florida wilderness is home to many dangerous animals including alligators, venomous snakes and wild boar. Though group leaders will do their best to avoid close encounters and dangerous situations, sometimes these things are out of our control. Your participation is at your own risk. Swamp N Stomp LLC and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers are not liable for injuries or damages resulting from your participation in this workshop.

Deer season is right around the corner and we couldn't be more excited... and I am sure we aren't the only ones!
