event_description: Joe Ross, arborist and founder of eattheplanet.org, and Amy Demers, founder of CT Foraging Club, will be co-teaching a class on foraging invasives. You will learn how to identify and utilize edible and medicinal invasive plants. We will also discuss how to sustainably harvest invasive plants in a way that will improve our land.The class will consist of ~45-minute lecture, followed by ~45-minute walk, where we will practice plant and mushroom identification.This class will be $25 per person. 10% of ticket sales will be donated to New England Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.To sign up for the class, email shroomsofctgmail.com with the full name of all participants. You will be emailed further details regarding meet up location the day before the class.After class, participants are invited to join us in the removal of invasive plants and garbage at Naugatuck State Forest. Anyone is welcome to join us for free at 11:30 for the invasives and garbage clean up.We will run the class rain or shine.
