OR BHA Razor Clam Jam!*
Have you wanted to learn how to harvest razor clams on your public beaches? Or maybe just to meet up with other BHA members and enjoy part of Oregon’s 360 miles of public coastline? We’re having a family-friendly meet and get your clam on July 8th! Meet at 10:30 am at the End of Avenue U Seaside Promenade (2275 S Promenade, Seaside, OR 97138 for google maps). We’ll go over how to find, harvest, and even cook the delicious Razor Clam.
We'll have limited clamming gear for the first 30 people to register but, we encourage anyone and everyone to join us especially if you have clamming gear already!
Consider bringing the following:
- Appropriate beach wear - Oregon coast weather can change rapidly so please dress appropriately
- Water
- Lunch / Snacks
- Portable Camp Stove and Pans - We'll have limited amount of cooking supplies so if you want to fry up clams on your own then feel free to bring your own cooking supplies
- Beach Necessities - towels, sunscreen, etc.
- Cooler and ice for transporting clams back home
A clamming permit is required by ODFW State of Oregon: Shellfish - BUY YOUR PERMIT ONLINE HERE. Before You Harvest Clams or Mussels please note that per ODFW regulations, any harvested clam must be kept no matter the size. Harvest limit is currently 15 clams per license holder.
