We are excited to announce that one of our favorite annual events is now on the calendar for the fifth year! Backpack Trout Stocking in the Red River Gorge at Chimney Top Creek will be held on Tuesday October 10th beginning at 11am!
We will meet at 11 in the parking area of the Junior Williamson Rest Area just off the Mountain Parkway Exit 33. From there, we will follow the great folks from Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife to the stocking location. Then, get ready for a fun 2-mile round trip hike to the creek! Any uphill? Yea, you could say there's some uphill involved as it's comparable to hiking down and up a 40 story building but with a fantastic view of the iconic Red River Gorge area!!
A limited number of backpacks will be available, so if you have a comfortable pack, plan to bring your own.
This is always a fantastic day with many different folks showing up to assist the effort! Please RSVP below and then be sure to share this event with friends and family!
