The Armed Forces Initiative of BHA is sending 8 veterans on a wilderness canoe trip into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area with Voyageur Outward Bound School Sep 8-15 2023. In this dual skills camp, we will be learning and honing skills for 1) canoeing, fishing, and backcountry camping, and 2) talking conservation and using our veteran voices to defend public lands, waters, and wildlife.
During the pre-trip meetings, we will review packing lists and ensure you either bring sufficient gear or that we have loaner gear ready for you to use! These 1-hour meetings will be conducted on Zoom 1 & 2 months out from the trip start.

Military affiliation and a BHA membership is required for attendance (Veteran, National Guard, Reserves, Active Duty, Gold Star Family)
