BHA along with Colorado Parks and Wildlife are hosting an opportunity for individuals to get their hands dirty and contribute to habitat conservation in Southeast Colorado.
Participants will assist in removing harmful woven wire fencing on approximately 1 mile of Big Spring STL.
This property is recently enrolled in the Public Access Program and supports a year-round population of pronghorn. To help facilitate the continued management of grazing on the property we will replace the welded wire fencing with 4-strand barbed and smooth wire fencing, built to CPW’s wildlife-friendly fencing specifications.
Participants will meet at the Colorado Parks and Wildlife office at 7am, where transportation will be provided. Additionally, food and beverages for the day will be on hand. Bring a good pair of work gloves, and be ready to contribute to the conservation of wildlife and continued good stewardship for our public properties!
