Armed Forces Initiative in Colorado needs Leaders, and we invite you to apply for an OTC 3rd Rifle Elk Camp in GMU 14 and GMU 16. There are very limited spots for this camp, but if you're interested in an active volunteer leadership role in Colorado, please apply. At this camp, you'll meet some of the National and Colorado-based BHA and Armed Forces Initiative leaders.
This camp will be supported by veteran owned and operated Rugged Mountain Outfitters. All logistics will be provided. All you need is your own license and tag, day hunting equipment (rifle, ammo, clothing, load bearing pack, etc) and a sleeping bag. Even if you're not an experienced elk hunter, we'll have hunting mentors available to assist. This will be an opportunity to learn some skills to become a better elk hunter, as well as an opportunity to learn the requirements, expectations, and processes as a BHA leader.
Although you can drive to base camp, this is a legitimate backcountry public lands elk camp, and the commensurate physical fitness is expected.There are opportunities for elk, deer, and bear in this region.
