From the tip of the Panhandle to the shores of the Arctic Ocean, Alaska holds over 220 million acres of federal public lands and nearly 100 million acres of state land. These vast tracts provide unparalleled opportunities for adventure, challenge, and connection with the natural world — and with them come the responsibility to ensure that Alaska’s outdoor traditions endure.
As a Chapter, we recognize what makes Alaska truly unique. Our volunteer Board is dedicated to building strong, diverse coalitions across the state’s regions and communities, learning from and engaging with our members and supporters.
At our core, we are a grassroots, volunteer-drive organization committed to standing up for Alaska’s wild public lands, waters, and wildlife. We work to maintain access, promote ethical and informed land use, and promote the backcountry experience that defines who we are as Alaskans.
