California AFI in association with the Kern River Conservancy is hosting a stewardship and flyfishing event!
Why You Should Want to Attend:
The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. The Kern River is one of the steepest and wildest whitewater rivers in North America. The SoCal AFI, led by Reina Seraaj is looking to ensure that some of the most popular stretches of the river continue to be maintained for public use.
What is it:
Time will be devoted to rebuilding several popular sections and ensuring they are safe for public access. It's not all work and no play though as there will be plenty of time to enjoy flyfishing on this beautiful waterway.

Who can attend:
- This event is open to all members of the military community
(Active duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star families)
- You do not need to be a BHA member to attend
(but we sure would appreciate it if you were)
