Calling all Texas BHA members interested in participating in a morning public land dove hunt and clean-up event at the Collin County Complex (W FM 1777-Unit 2266 & N Royse City-Unit 2267) public access area (see hyperlink). Participants will dove hunt at Access units 2266 or 2267. Please note this will not be a large group hunt event.
Following the hunt participants will pick up any trash or litter in their general hunting area and on their walk out of the access unit. Participants are encouraged to be aware of and not disturb other public hunters using the area while picking up trash/litter. Participants are welcome to bring their own trash bags and Austin Lindsey, BHA DFW Public Outreach Chair volunteer, will also be handing out trash bags to participants from 5:30 to 6:15am at the designated parking area northeast of the FM 1777 & CR 940 intersection (located near 464 Co Rd 940, Royse City, TX 75189). Participants are welcome to dispose of collected trash/litter at their residence with routine municipal trash pickups. However, Austin Lindsey can also collect any full trash bags from participants at the designated parking area northeast of the FM 1777 & CR 940 intersection following the hunt from 11:00am to 12:30 pm. A 23-24 hunting license, the migratory game bird endorsement, the Harvest Information Program (HIP) certification, and an Annual Public Hunting Permit will be required to participate in the event. All are welcome! Participants are responsible for being familiar with and abiding by all hunting regulations.
Participants should bring water, snacks, and may want to bring a pair of work gloves for the trash pick-up as well as broken bottles or sharp objects may be encountered. Again, this will not be a large BHA group hunt event. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
This hunt and cleanup is limited to 10 participants.
Please RSVP today so we can contact you in case of any last minute changes!
