We need your help to clean up our trout streams!
Fishermen litter specifically ...you know what we’re talking about. We’re reaching out to you because we think you’ll agree that it’s embarrassing.
The West Virginia Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is all about Trash & Trout this spring.
River Clean Up Event
We’ll be hosting a river cleanup on Dunloup Creek in Fayette County on March 30. There is camping available along the New River at the NPS Stone Cliff campground just down the road.
Stay posted to our social media channels for updates.
- Meeting Time: Saturday March 30, 1:00pm

- What to bring: Gloves, fishing gear and whatever snacks, drinks or gear you need.
Social Media Contest
We’ll also be giving away a BHA branded net from West Virginia’s own Catch Cam Nets and some Darn Tough Socks.
So how do you participate?
- Go fishing
- Pick up trash
- Post a photo with your trash haul in the WV BHA Facebook group or tag @westvirginiabha on Instagram with the hashtag #trashandtrout
That’s it! If you happen to catch a trout while you’re out there, pictures of your trash haul with your catch score higher.
On April 12th, we’ll pick the winners.
Now, get out there, step into those cold streams and pack out some trash!
