Event Recap: Brooks Range Stories LIVE – Juneau

On Monday, February 9th, Alaska BHA and Hunters & Anglers for the Brooks Range hosted Brooks Range Stories LIVE at Alaskan Brewing Co. in Juneau, bringing the spirit of Alaska’s backcountry to the community.

About 50 Attendees enjoyed an intimate evening of campfire-style storytelling from Alaskan writer, hunter, gatherer, and adventurer Bjorn Dihle, whose tales captured the beauty, challenge, and wild character of the Brooks Range. The event provided a space for hunters, anglers, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone passionate about Alaska’s public lands and the wild Brooks Range to connect, share experiences, and celebrate the timeless tradition of storytelling. From wolf and bear encounters, caribou, wolverine, frigid river crossings, frostbite, and returning to the Brooks in warmer seasons, Bjorn's stories made us laugh, gasp, and feel connected to the area and the sense of adventure we all crave.

The gathering was free and open to all, creating meaningful conversations and fostering connections among the local outdoor community.
