BHAxFHF Shooting Challenge with Washington BHA

Over 50 shooters joined us for this year's Shooting Challenge, tackling 6 stations and 12 targets spread across 1.6 miles of mountain terrain.

Participants faced a wide range of shooting distances, angles, positions, and conditions—including hail, wind, and sunshine—

all designed to simulate real-world hunting scenarios.

The biggest win wasn't the scores—it was the learning. Shooters gained experience building stable positions, using tripods effectively, reading wind, and discovering their personal ethical shooting limits. Many left with a better understanding of both their gear and their capabilities in the field.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible. Special thanks to for their partnership in planning the event and providing mentors who helped participants learn and grow throughout the challenge. We'd also like to thank Throom Targets for generously donating targets that helped make the event a success.

Most importantly, thank you to all of the volunteers, mentors, and participants who braved the mountain and the weather with great attitudes and a willingness to learn. It was incredible to see so many hunters committed to improving their skills and becoming more effective and ethical in the field.

See you on the mountain next year!
