Tacos On the Fly

Author: Anonym
July in Missoula is characterized by days floating the three major rivers that run through town; the Clark Fork, the Bitterroot, or the infamous Blackfoot, and evenings spent attending concerts at the Kettlehouse Amphitheater or downtown at Big Dipper Ice Cream. Montana-born, New York City-seasoned reporter and writer Nate Schweber uncovers the whole sordid, instructive history in his wild ride of a book, This America of Ours: Bernard and Avis DeVoto and the ...

Lessons From a Bad Fly Fisher

My fly rod lays in the grass at my feet – the line in a disorganized heap, describing a story of frustration and annoyance. Handicapped by inexperience, I had attempted to battle the wind. It was a fight I had no chance of winning. The fly I had just lost was the last straw along a journey of poor casts, unnatural drifts and spooked fish. Overwhelmed, I half-dropped, half-tossed the rod aside in a quiet tantrum, cursing under my breath. My only previous experience fly fishing was in ...
