On May 7 the British Columbia Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers held their first “Boots on the Ground” habitat enhancement work party at the Nature Trust of British Columbia’s 365 hectare Sheep Mountain conservation property, which is located 10 kilometers south of Elko, BC. Fifteen eager members showed up with work gloves, fencing pliers, jack-alls and chains to remove a section of old dilapidated barbed wire fencing to make the area safe for wildlife movement. This was BCBHA’s first opportunity to partner with The Nature Trust of BC (TNT) to ensure these important land acquisitions continue to provide the foundation for healthy wildlife populations and quiet, quality hunting and fishing opportunities. Because at Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, hunting and fishing isn’t what we do – it’s who we are.
