Women in the Woods

Women in the Woods is a BHA initiative, nested within our Hunting for Sustainability program, aimed at creating a community of women who hunt and fish and fostering an atmosphere in which women can share knowledge, expertise, and experiences. Here you will find resources for both the new and seasoned hunter or angler. BHA’s WitW initiative is built on three pillars:

Storytelling
Our storytelling pillar seeks to amplify the pursuits of women in the outdoors to inspire more women to seek these experiences. It is through storytelling that we understand the meaning of being an outdoorswoman and through the eyes and stories of others, learn what we are capable of.

Hunting for Sustainability Programming
Our H4S pillar seeks to establish seminars, trainings, and field time to equip new hunters with the skills and knowledge to hunt successfully and ethically. WitW programming is led by women in both virtual and in-person settings and allows exchange of information between novice and seasoned hunters.

Community
Skills and knowledge are nothing without a community to use them with. Our community pillar seeks to create on-the-ground, local communities of outdoorswomen who can hunt, fish, and enjoy the outdoors together.

If you are a female hunter or angler and you'd like to contribute or get involved, contact [email protected].
