Happy Spring! Cabin fever is setting in and turkey season is right around the corner. The days are getting longer and we're starting to stir - here's what we've been up to:
Policy
We expressed our opposition to the Golden Crest Exploration Drilling Project.
A win from the 2024 legislation session is the passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 605, which recognizes the value of grassland ecosystems and the importance of farmers and ranchers as managers. This is an exciting recognition of the importance of our native prairies and what they mean to our wildlife. We hope this will have a position change in perception around our public lands and waters at a policy level.
Over the next year, we will continue to watch and push for additional funding for water quality projects to make sure our public waters are safe and accessible for the community.
As mining pressures continue to increase in the Blacks Hills National Forest, we will continue to watch and fight for smart mining policies.
We also added six new members to our board! Welcome Trevor, Chris, Derek, Kevin, Tyler, and Andrew!
