Help enhance habitat by removing old barbed wire fencing and get a free lunch and beer!
Volunteers removed over 1 mile of fence at previous event! We will be removing old fence from Boulder County Open Space on Rabbit Mountain, located 6 miles northwest of Longmont. Conservationists of all ages are welcome! This event is open to all members and non-members. Kids may also attend. Dogs/animals not permitted. Dogs/animals not permitted.
Meeting Details:
About 1 mile south of Rabbit Mountain Parking Area 15140 N 55th St. Longmont, CO 80503. look for the sign “Volunteer Event” on side of road. Volunteers can show up anytime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
What to Bring:
Volunteers will need to be able to make a short hike from parking area to project location and be able to pull fence posts, handle pliers to remove and cut wire, coil wire and/or carry old fencing to designated pick up spot. Volunteers are encouraged to bring leather work gloves, pliers, wire cutters, water bottle or anything else you feel helpful. Extra gloves, pliers, wire cutters will be available. Happy hour to follow at 1(same location)! Lunch provided by BHA. Beer provided by Upslope Brewery!
