Come join us to assist the habitat management at Muddy Brook WMA in Hardwick, MA. According to MassWildlife, “The greater Muddy Brook Valley represents an important and rare collection of fire-influenced barrens habitat communities in Massachusetts. Restoring barrens is critical to conserving the distinct plants, insects, and animals—including 75 species on the Massachusetts Endangered Species List—that depend on these uncommon habitats.” MA BHA is going to assist in promoting this unique habitat on May 1st from 9-12 AM.
Please bring your loppers, bowsaws, hand saws, anything to fell white pines in the 1”-3” diameter range, please NO CHAINSAWS.
