Indiana BHA Grassroot Impact at J.E. Roush Lake FWA

The Indiana BHA Chapter had a great day of stewardship at J.E Roush Lake Fish and Wildlife Area in Huntington on Saturday, 1/27.  We had 22 awesome volunteers show up to assemble 24 wood duck boxes for this popular piece of public land! Thanks to such a great turn out, we quickly got ahead of schedule with box construction and had time to get out and place four of these boxes around one of the property ponds. Volunteers also had time to re-focus efforts towards picking up trash from key access areas. The chapter also donated additional posts and hardware so the property staff can easily install more of the boxes across the property. We're excited to have conducted this project with a little time to spare before these amazing wood ducks return to nest.

Indiana BHA would like to extend a big thank you to those who volunteered for the event along with a huge thank you to Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems who provided the grant funding to purchase the wood duck box kits. We are happy to continue our impact around Indiana!
