Search committee led by BHA board invites applicants to lead North American hunter and angler organization

MISSOULA, Mont. – Backcountry Hunters & Anglers’ North American board of directors has announced a continent-wide search for the organization’s new president and chief executive officer.

The CEO will play a key role in growing and strengthening one of North America’s leading conservation organizations. Reporting to the North American board of directors, they are the face of the organization, creating partnerships and strategic opportunities, leading on fundraising development, maintaining a strong organizational reputation, providing a clear vision to staff, chapters, members and the public, and supporting a positive work environment to ensure the sustainability, health, and success of the organization.

Formed around a 2004 campfire in Oregon, BHA will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024. Over the past decade the organization experienced rapid growth and major North American conservation policy achievements, while staying true to its boots-on-the-ground volunteer work. The next chapter in BHA’s story will tie in directly with the work and vision of a new CEO.

The CEO position announcement is available on BHA’s website. Interested applicants can send a cover letter and resume to the hiring committee, all volunteer board members, at [email protected] with the subject line “CEO Application.” Applicants will be accepted through Sept. 13 or until the position is filled. Applicant review will begin Sept. 14.
