event_description: Grab your leather gloves and help the Washington Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers and the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife remove barbed wire fencing on the Methow Wildlife Area near Winthrop, WA on Saturday, May 4.The Methow Valley has the largest migratory mule deer population in the state. The Washington BHA has been helping the local WDFW remove barbed wire from this critical, low-elevation winter range for the past 6 years! Weve wrapped up MANY miles of fence and had a great time doing it.We hope youll join us! And afterwards, well celebrate our hard work with BBQ and local brews.Make it a weekend event and join us at a free, group camping spot near the work site and just outside of Winthrop, WA. Bear Creek Public Access 1, undeveloped campsite: Schedule: • Fence Removal - 12-4pm. Meeting location - Hanks Harvest Foods Parking Lot - Twisp, WA.
