Take a 4 mile hike into a beautiful high mountain lake for some rest and relaxation with a group of other outdoorswomen! Participants must have all equipment (see this list for a general idea of what is needed! REI Backpacking Checklist
This is a women’s only event, and it is limited to ten participants. BHA leader Anne Jolliff will lead the hike to Grayling Lake where we will camp for the night. Be ready to meet at Canyon Creek Campground and Picnic area (45.62526, -112.94272) Saturday morning start up the trail at 8:30 am to make sure and beat the heat of the day. We’ll be at a lake for the night, so if fishing is your thing, make sure to bring some gear (pack light!) and have all necessary Montana FWP licenses. You are also welcome to bring a good book, or just hang out and bask in the sunshine! Montana BHA will provide a dehydrated meal from Gastro Gnome for sometime Saturday, but you will want to make sure you have at least three other backpackable meals, snacks, and water for the trip. While we love our pets and kids, please leave them at home for this adventure. Elevation gain is 1500’ over the 4 miles, and while not strenuous, it’s best to be in good cardio shape! We will hike out Sunday morning.
