event_description: US Forest Service, Norwood Ranger District is looking for volunteers to help install heavy metal gates to protect big game winter range. The gates will be fabricated off site. Holes in the ground will already be drilled and ready to secure the gates in with cement. Buck and Pole wing fences will need to be built off of the gates to secure them. Tasks will include hammer use, chainsaw use, mixing water and concrete, balancing and leveling gates and bells, heavy lifting and team work.Bring: Sturdy work boots, leather work gloves if you have them, eye protection, sun protection, layers for the changing weather, hat, refillable water bottle and a sack lunch.When: Aug 13th or Aug 14th, and Aug 27th and 28th, 9 AM to 3 PM RSVP by July 30th (These dates will depend on RSVPs). Please indicate which dates work best for you by RSVPing to the dates that work best for you by following the instructions below. Where: If you are coming from the West End or Norwood we will meet 8 am at the Norwood Ranger District office, 1150 Forest St. Or if coming from elsewhere or the east meet at 9 am at the Craig Point turn.
