The weekend will start Saturday 9am Central time, by working on trash clean up, invasive species removal and posting signage around a new 170+acre parcel of land that is new to Willow Slough FWA. This 170+ acres of land will be open to the public for hunting in the near future but the clean-up and signage posting are needed before that can happen.
Saturday evening/night will include a camp-out with opportunities to fish, walk trails, kayak (need to bring- not available for rent) and/or hang out with other members in the campground around a fire.
Sunday will consist of a few more hours of work on the new acreage or helping with other needs around the FWA. Attendees should be prepared with clothes to work in (boots, pants, long sleeves), bring bug spray, safety or sunglasses, work gloves and if you have them- hand tools (i.e. shears, loppers). If attendees plan to camp, primitive camping will be available at Willow Slough Headquarters. This is a family friendly event and pet-friendly campground (please keep in mind the weather could be very hot for pets). If you intend to fish, bring any gear with you, there is a bait shop near the entrance of Willow Slough that is open on weekends.
Whether you can make it for the entire weekend or just Saturday or Sunday, this is a great opportunity to enhance some of Indiana newest Public Lands!
Please RSVP below so we know you're coming. The campground is a first come-first serve basis, so please try to arrive early enough to secure a campsite.
