Join the Indiana Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers as we join up with several conservation partners and we clean up the White River south of Indy at the Waverly Access Point! This particular event allows all attendees to really make an impact on our public lands and waters while learning much about the ecosystem of the White River.
We will paddle canoes and kayaks, power jon boats (water levels permitting), and walk the shorelines to remove trash from the river and its banks. Our primary goal is the removal of tires, but there is quite a bit of trash accumulated between the Waverly Access Point and the 144 bridge. We will take everything we see!
Only a limited number of spots are available, so be sure to RSVP in advance and let us know if you can bring your own canoe, kayak, or boat.
This stewardship day will be led by Friends of the White River in collaboration with IN BHA, Indiana Smallmouth Alliance, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Morgan County Soil and Water Conservation District, Morgan County Partnership for Water Quality, and Morgan County Recycling.
We will meet on Saturday, August 3rd at 9am at the Waverly Access Point, 8801 Whetzel St, Martinsville, IN 46151.
