Whether you’re a newbie or an experienced fly angler, we’re always working towards that perfect cast. If you need some incentive to improve your presentation, increase your catch rate, earn some bragging rights - or you’re just dipping your toes in the water and wanting some instruction - join the West Denver Chapter of Trout Unlimited and members of the Colorado Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for an evening “on the water” May 17th at O’Kane Park in Lakewood.
There will be setups to test out, courses to test your accuracy, distance challenges, and plenty of bystanders to give their 2-cents on why you can’t fix that tailing loop. While “casting” will be the focus, a person’s arm can get tired, so we’ll have beverages of all varieties, something to curb your appetite and a spot to relax and share some lies. And, if you’re new to fly fishing, don’t feel intimidated - we’ll have loaner rods and a few folks on hand to give basic instruction throughout the evening.
