The Washington Armed Forces Initiative will host a public land clean-up and small game hunt “Garbage and Grouse Round-up”, in Elbe Hills State Forest. The morning will be filled with boots on ground clean-up of trash left at several shooting sites located on public land. The afternoon will AFI members that participated in the clean up, stroll along the gated roads of Elbe Hills in search for Washington’s various grouse species, affectionately known as “Wood Chicken”. The hunting portion will be limited to 20 AFI members which must participate in the morning clean-up. Those members will be selected based on safety criteria, determined through the review of pre-participation survey.
