University of Minnesota Club President Presents at MN DNR Roundtable

University of Minnesota BHA club president, Kyle Hildebrandt represented Backcountry Hunters and Anglers at the Minneosta DNR's annual roundtable in January. The Minnesota DNR Roundtable’s theme this year was “Connecting to the Outdoors”. Kyle was invited to be part of a panel of speakers for the breakout session titled “Young Voices: Connecting with the Outdoors”. He sat among other panel members including a conservation program manager & three high school workers from Urban Roots, a Saint Paul organization whose mission is to cultivate and empower youth through nature, healthy food, and community. Each speaker shared personal stories of their diverse backgrounds and how they stay connected to the outdoors. Although the activities that they participated in varied widely, they all shared the sentiment of the importance of mentorship, connection to food, & being part of a community. Kyle has been active in efforts to get more people outside through hunting. He also sits on the Minnesota state chapter board and serves as a College Liaison where he will oversee all the college clubs in Minnesota as the program grows and work to help integrate clubs with the state chapter.
