Three Lakes WMA is the second largest remaining expanse of dry prairie in the United States and was once part of the last open range in America. Today Three Lakes is carefully managed to preserve habitat for Florida Wildlife. In addition to being one of Florida’s best quail hunting opportunities the WMA produces high numbers of snipe, rabbit and squirrels; it is a small game hunter’s paradise.
BHA has teamed up with volunteers from the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association to provide an opportunity for hunters to pursue quail behind trained bird dogs and experienced handers. For those who have never observed the beauty and teamwork that exists between a bird dog and its owner, BHA’s Three Lakes WMA event is an ideal experience.
Join BHA at the Southern Check Station off State Road 60 (27.8072653, -81.1291177) on Saturday, January 23rd at 6:30 AM.
All participants planning to hunt must have a Florida Hunting License and Management Area Permit. Hunters should wear blaze orange.
