event_description: Washington’s Armed Forces Initiative has teamed up with Tacoma Sportsmen’s Club to bring you a weekend of arrow flinging, family-friendly fun. Courses will consist of 40 Targets on Saturday and 30 Targets on Sunday. Additionally, there will be four novelty courses on Saturday. These will include the “Closest to Sasquatch’s Pin”, the “Walk Back Flight shot”, the “Running Elk”, and Saturday Night’s “Poacher’s Shoot”. Scoring will be in a 10, 8, 5, 0 format with 10X’s being used as a tiebreaker. Rangefinders will be allowed for any participants who choose to use them. Entry fees will be $40.00 for two days, and $25.00 for one day. Tacoma Sportsman’s Club will offer a $2.00 discount for any member of Back Country Hunters & Anglers, and a $5.00 discount for any Active Duty, Retired, Reserve, or Disabled Veteran, with proof of eligibility (ID / DD214). Shooters can purchase mulligans for the shoot for $1.00 a piece for a maximum of 2 mulligans used on each day of the shoot. The shooting divisions will be Men’s and Women’s Freestyle, Bowhunter, and Traditional. Age groups will be Cub (0-5 years old), Youth (6-12 years old), Young Adult (13-17 years old), Adult (18-55 years old), and Seniors (56-101 years old). Shooters who wish to compete for Trophies must shoot both days and First, Second, and Third place will be determined by adding the shooter’s scores for both days together for a two-day combined score. There will also be a “Top Operator” award for the Shooter who turns in the highest overall score for the weekend. Proceeds from this event will go to benefit Washington’s Armed Forces Initiative program and events, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers conservation efforts, and Tacoma Sportsmen’s Club archery program.TSC is opening up their campground for this event for BHA and AFI members. Our intent is to have a post-shoot get-together “burger burn” and possible bonfire Saturday evening for BHA and AFI members at the campground.Every AFI Membership purchased at this event will come with a one-year OnX membership.
