Texas Adult Mentored Hunting Program Application

The Texas Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers (BHA) is proud to present our Adult Mentored Hunting Program. This program is geared towards adults with little or no hunting experience. We hope this course not only opens your eyes to a sustainable and ethical method of hunting for meat, but also enhances your respect for the animal, the land, and the connected network of ecosystems found throughout Texas. The objectives of this course are to provide adults 21 and older with knowledge, skills, and mentorship in the field so that they are able to continue and pass on to their own family and friends the rich hunting heritage that fulfills so many other conservation-minded sportsmen and women.

Enrollment fee is to cover a portion of program costs, there will be a participation fee of $175 for Tier 1 hunts and $100 for Tier 2 hunts. Included in this cost is a 1-year membership to BHA ($35 value) which includes a quarterly newsletter, email updates, and invitations to BHA events throughout Texas and across the country.

Please note: This course is NOT a substitute for Hunter Education certification. You will need to complete a Hunter Education Class prior to hunting in Texas. More information online here. There are a limited number of seats available so please apply early!
