Please join Backcountry Hunters and Anglers in the Laramie area for a series of Habitat Improvement projects. Save your weekends for scouting and come help improve our local lands and waters during the week.
We will be starting with a bitterbrush seed harvest near Jelm Mountain. The seeds we harvest will be sent to a nursery, and seedlings brought back to plant in the Mullen fire scar. The second evening we will be installing boot brushes at 3 of the Plains Lakes. This is to prevent the introduction of New Zealand Mudsnails. Our third evening is tentative.
Bring appropriate footwear, gloves, and eye protection. Extra shovels and buckets are also helpful for the bootbrush installs.
We have two great local sponsors, West Laramie Fly Store and Free Flow Outdoors. Members that participate will be eligible for a drawing at the end of the series. They will receive a ticket in the drawing for every night that they attend. Prizes include: A $50 gift certificate from Free Flow Outdoors, 3 rod-reel combos from West Laramie Fly Store, 3 gift certificates from West Laramie Fly store. Refreshments will also be provided at the end of each work night. Members are welcome to bring non-members along, but include them in your RSVP.
We will meet at the Wyoming Game and Fish parking lot, then carpool to work areas.
